Domestic Violence Prevention Program

The Domestic Violence Prevention Program is an 18-week education and intervention program designed to support accountability, victim safety, and long-term behavioral change for individuals who have engaged in family or domestic violence behaviors.

This program follows the principles of the Duluth Model used in BIPP-style intervention, while being modified to serve participants in non-gender-specific situations, including female-on-male, female-on-female, and male-on-male domestic violence cases.

Through structured discussion, education, self-reflection, and skill-building exercises, participants are guided to recognize patterns of power, control, coercion, and abusive behavior while developing healthier communication, conflict resolution, emotional regulation, and relationship skills.

The program focuses on helping participants take responsibility for harmful behaviors without minimizing, denying, or shifting blame. Participants work on identifying belief systems that support violence or control, understanding the impact of abuse on victims and families, and learning practical alternatives rooted in respect, equality, accountability, and non-violent decision-making.

Topics covered may include family violence dynamics, power and control, emotional regulation, healthy boundaries, empathy development, effective communication, accountability practices, and strategies for maintaining lasting behavioral change.
