Are your courses state-approved and accepted by courts and Texas DPS?

Yes. A Better Choice Education Program offers accredited DWI and Drug Offender Education courses accepted by Texas courts, probation, and the Department of Public Safety (DPS). This includes the 12-Hour DWI class, 32-Hour DWI course, and the Drug Offender Education Program.

  • 12-Hour DWI Course: Three sessions of ~4 hours each (typically over 3 days).

  • 32-Hour DWI Course: Multi-week format; check the schedule for exact dates/times.

  • Drug Offender Education Program: Five sessions of ~3 hours each (5 days).

  • 2-Hour Victim Impact Panel / Bridging the Gap: One 2-hour session (note county limits below).

Yes. Many sessions are offered via Zoom. Your Zoom link is emailed one day before the course begins—watch your inbox for access details for each day. For Zoom classes, your camera must remain on at all times, and you may not drive or operate machinery during class.

Yes. Courses are available in English and Spanish, and the program lists ASL support. See the course list for Spanish offerings and contact the office if you need language accommodations.

In-person offices are listed in Edinburg, Pasadena, and Houston, and the program services all of Texas (with online options). See the Contact page for addresses and phone details.

Yes. Upon successful completion, the program can provide your certificate and can forward results or documentation to your attorney, probation officer, or court. Options like scanned/emailed certificates and Priority Mail are available (fees apply; see Terms & Conditions).

Per the Terms & Conditions: No refunds are given. Missing any day or being 15+ minutes late can result in being dropped from the course. Rescheduling within 14 days of the first class may incur a reschedule fee, and other administrative fees may apply (e.g., late payment, expedited processing). Review the full policy before enrolling.

Yes. The 2-Hour Victim Impact Panel/Bridging the Gap is not valid for Hidalgo, Willacy, and Cameron counties. If you were ordered by a court in one of these counties, contact the office for the correct requirement.
